Leading the way was Hugh O’Neill’s Lagyveagh flock from Glenarm which averaged 525gns for 4 shearling ewes. The 750gn Lagyveagh Kirsty is a group two genotype, scanned in lamb with triplets and out of the Cannon V/D Drie Musschen sire and a Belgian bred ewe. She sold in lamb to a V/h Hoveke ram to breeder John Young, Bellaghy.

Lagyveagh Katie, also a group two genotype, and by the same sire out of a homebred ewe, was the next to top the list. She was scanned with a single lamb to another Belgian bred ram, and sold at 550gns to new breeder David McLaughlin, Co. Donegal.
520gns was the tops for Alan Lecky’s Dergview flock from Castlederg for the shearling Dergview K98. She is by the Whatmore Handyman sire and out of a homebred ewe. She sold in lamb with two lambs to a Belgian bred ram to Mr McCaffrey, Coleraine.
Lagyveagh Kitcat, another entry from Hugh O’Neill,sold for 500gns in lamb with twins to the V/h Hoveke ram to breeder James Christie, Cloughmills, who also purchased the single shearling entry from Brendan McQuaid’s Fort View flock from Banbridge. Fort View Kissy is by the Gritter sire out of a Belgian bred ewe and sold for 300gns. She is carrying a single lamb to Ballydown Lord who’s grandsires include the 2000gn Fort View Hercules.
The single entry from 2006 Flock Competition winners Thomas & Hester Palmers Burnside flock from Glenarm sold for 420gns to young breeder Matthew Burleigh, Kinawley. Burnside Kelly, a group 1 shearling by the Burnside Jako sire out of a Belgian bred ewe, was carrying twins to the Firestone ram.
Aged ewes reached a top price of 480gns paid by Gary Ferguson, Stewartstown for Dergview J47 from Alan Lecky. This 2005 born group 2 ewe is by Brickrow Highland Warrior out of a homebred ewe, and sold carrying twins to ALD K02, the 1st placed ram lamb at RUAS 2006. Ballyclare breeders Andrew and Marbeth Scott paid 400gns twice for Dergview ewes. Dergview H019 and Dergview E103 were 2004 and 2001 born respectively. Both are scrapie group two ewes carrying triplets in lamb to the ALD K02 ram.
Ewe lambs topped at 210gns for Fort View Lillie from Brendan McQuaid. This group one lamb is sired by Hugo V/h Hoveke, the 2007 Glenarm Reserve Champion out of a homebred ewe, and sold to Jim Elliott’s Cookstown flock at Dungannon. Kevin McCarthy’s Ballycreelly flock from Comber sold Ballycreelly Lunar, a group one daughter of Headlind Hectic out of a homebred ewe at 180gns to Donegal breeder Wade McCrabbe.
