Carlisle MV Accredited Pedigree Beltex Sheep
Thursday 29th September 2005
The last ram through the sale ring attracted the highest bid
at the Beltex sheep society late autumn sale of rams at Borderway Mart, Carlisle

Leading the sale at 900gns was a group 2 lamb ram from the
Headlind flock of Lanarkshire breeder Alan Jackson. Headlind Jumbo, a February

local breeder James Little of the Skiddaw View flock based at Ireby, Wigton.

Airyolland Geezer, and caught the eye of commercial breeders Steadman and
Judy Dodd of Temple Sowerby, Penrith.
Selling for 600gns was another shearling ram coming from the
Headlind flock of Alan Jacksons. Headlind Home Made, a March 2004 born son
of the imported sire The Rustler, and was knocked down to WT McMiken of Nether
Ernambrie, Castle Douglas.
Two shearling rams from Messrs Shanks and Thom of the Garrion
flock, Carluke followed next in the price list. First at 480gns was Alans
Hitman a group one ram by the imported sire 3697 and was soon followed by
a shearling selling for 460gns , an imported February born group one ram.
