3000 gns Breaks Beltex Record at Worcester
Steve Gibbons of the Llwynbrain flock, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford
achieved a record price for a ram lamb at a society sale at Worcester.
The consignment from Mr Gibbons, who brought forward five
entries in total including two yearlings and three ram lambs, was a February
2002 born twin sired by Whatmore Ever Ready out of Whatmore Elite.
Having taken the reserve male championship he went on to secure
the top price of of 3000 gns and sold to Mr Bell of Brecon.
Taking 2000 gns was the male and supreme champion, Whatmore
Edward again from vendor Mr Gibbons. This shearling ram is a son of
Clary Badger out of Bethan and was bought by Mr Pilkington.
The female champion was a shearling ewe from Sara Morris.
She went on to make 880gns and was bought by Mrs Lamborne.

11 ram lambs £554; 13 flock ewes
£283; 11 shearling ewes £305; 4 ewe lambs £336.
