The sales topper at £1,155 was the pre-sale show Male Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion, a strong shearling ram from Matthew Burleigh, Kinawley. Matt’s Phenomenal ET is sired by Beechtree Nightrider ET out of Rocksolid Molly ET by Rocksolid Knuckle Duster.

The show’s Supreme Champion, a stylish shearling ewe from the Coolough flock of John Donaghy, Omagh, left the ring unsold, this time at £1,130. Coolough Pump Up Volumn, is by the Brickrow Leon Lion sire and out of Coolough Mullaghcarn by Islandview Jekyll.

Placed 2nd in her class and selling for £451 was Matt’s Pure Gold presented by Matthew Burleigh. This shearling ewe is sired by Beechtree Moody Blue, out of Matt’s Majesty by the Belgian bred Firestone ram.

A further four shearling ewes sold for £420 each. Rocksolid Polar, presented by Paul Barnes, Dungannon is by the Corra Mupper ET sire and out of Rocksolid Lynn by Pentland Hero. Coolough Party Animal, the 3rd placed ewe from John Donaghy’s Coolough flock, is a full sister to the show’s Supreme Champion. Lagyveagh Pixie was presented by the Glenarm flock of Hugh O’Neill, sired by Lagyveagh Longford and out of Lagyveagh My Girl by the Belgian bred Van’t Hoveke ram. Lagyveagh Peaches, placed 5th in her class, is from the same flock, bred by the Lagyveagh Maverick sire and out of a Belgian bred V/D Ganzemeersch ewe.

The Reserve Female Champion and 1st prize ewe lamb presented by Matthew Burleigh left the ring unsold, this time at £630. Matt’s Rihanna is by the Eskdale Lionheart sire, purchased in Carlisle in 2010, and out of Matt’s Lolly Pop by Brickrow Joe Jangle.

The Reserve Male Champion and 1st prize ram lamb was also presented by Matthew Burleigh, Kinawley. The stylish January born Matt’s Rocksolid ET is also by the Eskdale Lionheart sire, out of Rocksolid Molly ET by Rocksolid Knuckleduster, and sold at £840. The 2nd prize ram lamb from the same pen fetched £798. This was Matt’s Razzle Dazzle, another smart son of the Eskdale Lionheart sire and out of Matt’s Lipstick by Brickrow Joe Jangle. Matthew’s pen of ram lambs sold to an average of £587 for six, whilst his pen of shearling rams sold to an average of £718 for five.

Placed 3rd in his class, a March born ram lamb from Cynthia Aiken’s Carnew flock at Dromara sold for £735. Carnew Rough Diamond is sired by Artnagullion Prince Charming II ET and out of Carnew Naomi by the Lagyveagh Kidman sire.

Also making their mark, and featuring strongly in the top prices, was a pen of stylish shearling rams presented by Edward & Shirlee Nicholson, Kilkeel. Their top price of £829 came for Derryogue Preston by the Corra Magnetic ET ram and out of Derryogue Kylie sired by Wonderboy. He stood 3rd in his pre-sale show class. This price was closely followed by £819 each for 2 more from the Derryogue flock. Derryogue Percyville being a twin to the pen’s top priced Preston ram, and Derryogue Patrick sired by Cookstown Mr 5th ET and out of Derryogue Millie by the Ardstewart Little Tike sire. The Derryogue flock averaged £594 for a pen of seven.
